Tell me a little bit about yourself.

I’m a native NYer hailing from Bed-Stuy (DO OR DIE!!!); I’m a writer, mother, sister, daughter and friend. People will tell you: I’m a total entertainment junkie to the core, but I take my entertainment seriously… your typical armchair critic I guess.

What else… I have a BA & an MFA and won’t stop until my title is Dr. Penzo. YEAH! I’m handy with tools but I can’t drive a car. At all. I can walk the hell out of some sidewalks though…

What is the name of your blog and what is it about?

My blog is called The Jaded NYer

I use it as a journal/”newsletter” to keep family, friends and loyal readers up to date with the inner workings of my brain.

What is the title, what does it mean, and how did you think of the name?

The Jaded NYer… pretty self-explanatory because that’s pretty much me- jaded about life, love, etc (despite some nasty rumors circulating around Twitter!)

I think I was leaving a snarky remark to a post on relationships and someone called me Jaded so it kinda stuck.

What made you start a blog?

My co-workers at the time encouraged it because of the crazy things I used to tell & email them!

How long have you been blogging?

On blogger at this current URL since 2006; but prior to that I had a myspace blog and another “secret” blog on blogger that dated back to 2004. (It has since been deleted)

What are you hopes and goals for your blog?

I used to want to make money off of it but I’ve since changed my mind. I don’t want blogging to be a chore. Right now it’s fun for me and I want to keep it that way!

What do you like most about blogging?

Writing some real ignorant sh*t in anticipation of the crazy comments my friends will post. Like my stick-figure drawings and conversation excerpts w/Jack, my Gay Husband.

Name some blogs you vist and why you visit them.

Wow, there are a lot! I visit lots of NYC bloggers ’cause I know them like Eb the Celeb, The F$%k It List, ShellyShell, Karrie B, etc, because they are smart, funny and sassy like me.

I visit my BF Irene’s blog because she writes on fitness and nutrition; Oh Hell Nawl for its tomfoolery; Brother OMI Smarty Jones for book & movie talk & occasional rants; Q’s World for her candidness and Spikey pics lol; Blogxilla for sex talk and music; Leon for some funnies; Bangs and a Bun ’cause she’s my sister from another (Irish) mother… I could go on for days!

I’m basically attracted to fun, smart, well written blogs… my list from Google Reader is HUGE! I could never replicate it here…

And I know I left some important people out… please don’t be mad! Y’all know I love you!!!!!

What do you want your readers to best remember you as?

They should remember as someone who rep’d HARD for BK and NYC and gave a mean SIDE EYE with no remorse!!

I want people to remember that my blog was written w/blood, sweat & tears, that it was VERY well written, and that they were getting but a glimpse of my future genius… I *am* THE Master of Fine Arts, you know. LMAO!!!

Mostly I want them to remember that I wrote from the heart and I hope that they had a lot of fun at my spot!
