A 16-year-old girl thought she heard her mother being assaulted by her boyfriend and rounded up some friends who beat him up, only to learn later that the couple actually were having sex, the woman and police said. The girl misinterpreted the woman’s amorous screams, and she and four other teens went to the woman’s bedroom in the Torrington home on June 6, police Lt. Bruce Whiteley said Thursday.

He went into cardiac arrest and died at UCLA Medical Center.

A Lawrenceville man was arrested Tuesday morning after police said he hijacked his girlfriend’s car to show up for court on time.
Marcus Tavon Brown was taken into custody shortly after he arrived at Lawrenceville Municipal Court, authorities said.
“We got a call from a lady who said a guy had taken her car at gunpoint and was headed to court,” Lawrenceville police spokesman Capt. Greg Vaughn said.
